The short version
Capsignal helps founders share monthly updates with investors who chose to follow them. We collect the minimum needed to do that, we never sell personal data, and every email we send has a working unsubscribe link.
What we collect
- Founders and accelerators — account email, password (stored as a salted hash, never readable), and the company details you choose to publish on your Beacon.
- Investors — the email address you enter when you follow a company or request a meeting, an optional phone number and note if you provide them, and which channel brought you (for example a QR scan or a LinkedIn link). Investors never create accounts and never set passwords.
- Usage — visit counts on Beacons (not tied to your identity) and whether update emails were delivered and opened.
How we use it
- Delivering the monthly updates you subscribed to.
- Showing founders who follows them and whether updates are being read.
- Showing accelerators the progress of companies that explicitly connected to them — founders control that connection and can revoke it at any time.
- Keeping the service secure (rate limiting, abuse prevention).
We do not sell personal data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not identify anonymous visitors to Beacons.
Who we share it with
Service providers that run Capsignal: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), and Resend (email delivery). Each processes data only to provide the service. A founder can also export their own subscriber list — those are the people who subscribed to that founder.
Your choices
- Every update email contains an unsubscribe link that works immediately, no login required.
- To access, correct, or delete your data, email nikolai@capsignal.app — we respond within 30 days.
